Laura and Kathy Hampton left on Friday, 11/11/2005, to travel to Kerrville where they stayed with Randy's parents. The next day they continued to Harlingen where they birded a little and looked at the binocular and other exhibits at the Rio Grande Valley Birding Festival. Early Monday morning they departed for Ciudad Mante, Tamaulipas, Mexico. Using Mante as a base, they spent all week birding the surrounding hotspots which Jay and Mel Pineda had scouted in previous weeks. Details of each day's activities are included in the individual journals for the trip. They returned to Harlingen late Saturday evening, tired, but happy having successfully seen many beautiful sights and birds.
