" Jay had been pleading with us to go with him to Mexico for some time. We finally agreed since this was his last spring break before graduation. It was a memorable trip in many ways. Jay was able to show us many of the things that he had encountered in previous trips. Laura was able to add many new birds to her life list. And Randy (along with Laura and Jay) was able to see the inside of a Mexican interrogation room for the first time. Laura and Randy had long wondered what Mexico was really like once you got significantly south of the border. This trip showed that it is mountainous and lush in many places. Some of the roads are excellent, and some are filled with potholes that double the time required to reach your destination. For the most part, our accommodations and food were excellent. In all cases the scenery was breathtaking.
